Coverage
Understanding how your treatment is paid for is also part of planning it.
Guidance, not a promise
Understanding how a treatment is paid for is part of planning it. Your health plan and your supplemental insurance may help cover part of the costs of your surgery, but how much and in what way depends on your plan and your diagnosis. I see self-pay patients, patients with Isapre (private health insurance in Chile) and patients with Fonasa (Chile's public health insurance), and there are payment options. Here we share the general picture so you can come to your consultation with more clarity; it isn't a quote or a guarantee of coverage.
What a treatment includes
An orthodontics and surgery treatment has different parts, and each one may have different coverage: the tests, the orthodontics, the surgical team's fees, the operating room and hospital stay, and the follow-up visits afterward. That's why it's worth looking at the whole picture and not just one part. At your consultation, we go over each component with you and give you a detailed quote, in writing.
For our patients: we review your coverage with you
When you start your evaluation with us, you have access to coverage guidance: using your plan's details, we review how your Isapre or Fonasa and your supplemental insurance could help cover each part of the treatment, and which documents are worth preparing. It's support for our patients, not an open calculator: every plan is different, and we prefer to look at it with you.
We look at it together
Beyond coverage, what matters is finding a plan and solutions so you can move forward toward your health and well-being. At your evaluation, we talk through the options, organize them according to what you need and look at ways to pay that fit your situation. If you have questions about your plan, bring your information to your consultation and we'll go over it with you, calmly.

Frequently asked questions
Does Isapre cover orthognathic surgery?
It depends on your plan and on the clinical records that support your diagnosis, and coverage may be different for each part of the treatment. If you have your evaluation with us, we review your case with your plan's information.
Does my supplemental insurance help?
Many supplemental insurance policies can help cover part of the expenses, depending on their terms. We recommend reviewing your policy and bringing it to your consultation: with it, we can better guide you on which documents they usually ask for.
Do you see Fonasa patients?
Yes. We see self-pay, Isapre and Fonasa patients. How your health plan takes part depends on your plan and your diagnosis; we review it with you at your evaluation.
Does orthodontics have the same coverage as surgery?
Not necessarily. Orthodontics and surgery usually have different coverage, and that varies with each plan. That's why the quote separates each component of the treatment, so you can clearly see what corresponds to each part.
What documents do Isapres or insurers usually ask for?
In general, the diagnosis, the tests that support it and the detailed quote. Each Isapre or insurer may ask for different documents; at your consultation, we guide you on what to prepare for your case.
Are there payment options?
Yes. At your evaluation, we talk through the options and look at ways to pay that fit your situation. The idea is to find a plan that lets you move forward, without cost being the reason to put off what's good for you.
